TS-Optics Multi Use Collimator

TSMKOLLI is an optical LED collimator. It contains an achromatic lens objective inside, which can be used with an eyepiece or an astronomical camera. It works like a small optical tube inside the focuser of your telescope. Four LEDs form a set of concentric highlights from each optical surface of the telescope. Mirror surfaces give – bright highlights, lens surfaces – low. Thanks to this, the collimator objectively and clearly displays the state of the telescope collimation and allows you to quickly correct it.

The aluminium body has two landing barrels for 2″ and 1.25″ (with filter thread inside). So you can use TSMKOLLI with all types of telescope focusers. It is also equipped with a simple threaded focuser for eyepiece or camera. You can use a 1.25” eyepiece to observe the image. Depending on the type of optical system and the focal length of the telescope, you need to choose the optimal magnification. But a more convenient way would be to install an astronomical camera and display the image on the computer screen. Using a filter makes an additional set of highlights that will indicate the position of the focuser in the general picture of highlights.

TSMKOLLI also allows you to detect backlash in the mechanics of the telescope and evaluate their effect on the collimation. The slightest shifts of the focuser or optical elements in their cells quickly manifest themselves, changing the picture built by the collimator. All this allows you to adjust the telescope for the most advanced observations or imaging of sky objects.

Note: The LED collimator works via a 12 V power supply (2.5×5.5 mm female connector) and not with batteries. The 12 V power supply unit for the power supply is not included in the scope of delivery!
