Antlia designed the ALP-T Dual Band 5nm Ha & OIII filter specifically for one-shot color (OSC) cameras, including DSLRs and dedicated astronomical OSC models. You can also use it with monochrome cameras as a time-saving narrowband option.
The filter’s advanced multi-coatings isolate the red H-alpha (656.3nm) and blue-green OIII (500.7nm) emission lines while blocking unwanted wavelengths with an optical density of OD4.5. This high level of suppression cuts through light pollution, moonlight, and airglow, boosting contrast and significantly improving your signal-to-noise ratio.
By capturing both major emission nebula lines simultaneously, the ALP-T filter delivers cleaner data and simplifies post-processing. You’ll spend less time extracting faint details from a noisy background and more time enjoying crisp, vibrant images of the night sky.
Application and Performance:
-
Antlia engineered the filter specifically for use with DSLR, CMOS, and CCD color cameras.
-
The filter blocks unwanted wavelengths with OD4.5 suppression, boosting signal-to-noise for cleaner images.
-
It features extremely steep bandpass edges that minimize internal reflections and enhance contrast.
-
The flat-top bandpass profile maintains spectral accuracy while reducing spectrum shift.
-
Antlia applies Ion Gun Assisted Deposition coatings on a double-sided polished substrate to ensure consistent performance and high optical precision.
-
The filter effectively suppresses artificial lighting across a wide range—from Bortle 1 to Bortle 8 skies.
-
It blocks near-infrared (NIR) light up to 1100nm, helping to preserve image sharpness and clarity.
