Simplify Your Setup
With ZWO’s integrated “Dual Sensor + ASIAIR” system, imaging becomes plug-and-play. Forget the cables and confusion — everything works together seamlessly, streamlining your entire workflow.
Reliable Multi-Device Connectivity
Equipped with 4x USB 2.0 ports, 2x 12V DC power ports, and a high-speed USB Type-C port, you can connect your focuser, filter wheel, mount, and more with confidence. Power and data transfer stay stable throughout your imaging sessions.
256GB eMMC for Built-In Reliability
Enjoy fast and stable storage with 256GB of onboard eMMC memory. Capture multiple imaging sessions without worrying about space. For larger projects, the USB ports also support external storage drives up to 1TB.
Advanced STARVIS 2 Sensor with 4K Output
Experience enhanced dynamic range and exceptional low-light performance with STARVIS 2 technology. This new-generation sensor boosts both sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio, capturing finer detail in every shot.
Say Goodbye to Amp Glow
The ASI585MC Air produces ultra-clean images, even during long exposures at high gain. Its zero amp glow performance is hardware-based — no software tricks needed — delivering beautifully smooth dark frames every time.

Rock-Solid Wireless Connectivity
With external dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G & 5G), you get stable performance within a 20-metre range. Cross-platform compatibility includes ASIAIR, ZWO’s ASIStudio, and third-party software via ASCOM Alpaca (ASCOM V6.6+ recommended).
*Note: 2.4GHz offers longer range, while 5GHz provides faster speeds in closer proximity.
Total System Control at Your Fingertips
With built-in wireless control, the ASI585MC Air gives you complete rig access directly from your smartphone. OTA updates keep the camera’s features current, making imaging easier and more enjoyable with every update.
Real-Time Adjustments and Instant Sharing
Live stacking is available during your imaging session, and you can tweak final images for contrast, brightness, and more before sharing directly to social platforms or astronomy forums. It’s instant post-processing at your fingertips.
Low Noise, High Dynamic Range
At high gain, the built-in HCG mode kicks in automatically to reduce read noise without sacrificing dynamic range. At gain 252, the ASI585 achieves a near 12-bit dynamic range with read noise as low as 0.7e — excellent for capturing both faint details and highlights.
Peak Quantum Efficiency
ZWO testing reports a peak QE of 91% for the ASI585MC Air, allowing more light to reach the sensor for better sensitivity and cleaner images.
Efficient Cooling for Long Exposures
A dual-stage TEC cooling system drops the sensor temperature by 30–35°C below ambient. This deep cooling minimises dark current and sensor noise, keeping your long-exposure images crisp and clean even on warm nights.
