With the advantage of low readout noise and high-speed readout, CMOS technology has revolutionized astronomical imaging. A back-illuminated, high-sensitivity, astronomical imaging camera is the ideal choice for astro-imagers. The QHY600 uses the Sony IMX455, a full frame (35mm format), back-illuminated sensor with 3.76um pixels and native 16-bit A/D. This sensor is available in both monochrome and colour versions. The QHY600 ends the days of non-16 bit CMOS cameras.
This “Lite” model of the QHY600PH is a shorter and less expensive, monochrome-only version. It has a smaller DDR3 buffer and standard back focus, meaning it may not be able to be paired with an OAG. Please make sure that this version is appropriate for your imaging train.
