Heavy duty aluminum extension pier to avoid a long telescope running into your tripod leg.

This is a compulsory addition to a light-weight tripod and mount, especially an alt-azimuth go-to mount, such as a Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi or Heliofind. It is also useful for long refractors on a Star Adventurer or an iOptron SkyGuider.  

It is also considered an upgrade to standard pier extensions as the sections thread together, resulting in a sturdier and heavier duty extension.

This extension has 3/8″ (16 TPI) threaded mounting hole on the bottom flange and a 3/8″ threaded bolt protruding from the top flange. It can be added to any tripod that has a 3/8″ mounting screw. The basic extension is 212mm, and additional threaded sections (148mm and 98mm) can be added, giving a maximum extension of 458mm.
