The Sky-Watcher HELIOSTAR 100Ha (Hydrogen alpha) is a high-performance 100mm hydrogen-alpha solar telescope designed for detailed observation and imaging of solar prominences, filaments, and sunspots. With a <0.5Å Ha bandwidth and advanced safety filtration, it’s the ideal choice for serious solar astronomers.
With an 800mm focal length, this telescope will produce an image of the Sun of diameter 7.4mm. This means that an imaging sensor must be larger than this to image the whole disk plus any prominences. A monochrome camera with a Sony IMX533 sensor would be ideal.
The Sky-Watcher HELIOSTAR 100Ha is a premium 100mm hydrogen-alpha solar telescope designed for serious solar observers and imaging enthusiasts. Engineered to deliver stunningly detailed views of solar prominences, filaments, sunspots and granulation, the Heliostar 100Ha provides exceptional optical clarity and safety through its sophisticated multi-filter system.
Featuring a generous 100mm aperture and a dedicated <0.5Å Ha bandwidth, this instrument is ideal for capturing the dynamic activity of the Sun in the hydrogen-alpha spectrum. A built-in thermal rejection system, UV blocking, and an infrared reflective film ensure safe and comfortable extended viewing.
